Post 7 CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

I would change a lot of things in my journalism study program so that the career doesn't take longer than necessary (at least 3 years), but also to protect the students’ mental health.

The first change would be the curriculum. There are so many good subjects, but I don't think they would contribute as much when you are a professional. For example, the classes of basic formation are interesting subjects that allow you to understand so many things. But, I think that these aren't necessary to comprehend functionalism. Instead, I would add subjects that are culture related, like movie or book criticism.

About the ICEI’s facilities, I don't know what to say about the buildings or the infrastructure of it because I have only known two classrooms, so I prefer not to say anything about it.

In terms of technology, I think that the university should hand a microphone to the professor to the hybrid classes, because sometimes the audio doesn't sound so good As well, there could be more cameras and tools for audiovisual subjects, cause for what I know, it is hard to get them.

Last but not least, workload. It's something I'd like to change since they give us a ton of readings and investigation to do weekly. It is a lot, sometimes I think that I will not be able to do it all on time.

Post 6 : Time travel to the future

In the year 2040 I would like to go to Chernobyl to see how the radiation is still affecting the area, and also because I am truly interested in knowing the ghost city frozen in time: Pripyat. Since I was little I have been attracted by this catastrophe, and as I grew I was able to research and investigate the historical facts, so I became even more obsessed. If I am honest, I think that the obsession would stick around forever.

I feel like I would be able to go to Chernobyl by the time I am 40 years old because as a journalist I will earn a miserable salary, so it is going to be difficult to save money for the trip, lodgment, food and many other things. I wish I could go earlier, but we have to be realistic.

I would panic if I’d stay more hours than the allowed, and even get nervous to be breathing in there. But I promise, from all my heart, that I would be unable to be there for more than two days, taking for granted that I will have to do two tours to know the whole city and the nuclear reactor itself. It would be such an incredible and terrifying experience at the same time. I REALLY WANT TO GO!!
