Post 6 : Time travel to the future

In the year 2040 I would like to go to Chernobyl to see how the radiation is still affecting the area, and also because I am truly interested in knowing the ghost city frozen in time: Pripyat. Since I was little I have been attracted by this catastrophe, and as I grew I was able to research and investigate the historical facts, so I became even more obsessed. If I am honest, I think that the obsession would stick around forever.

I feel like I would be able to go to Chernobyl by the time I am 40 years old because as a journalist I will earn a miserable salary, so it is going to be difficult to save money for the trip, lodgment, food and many other things. I wish I could go earlier, but we have to be realistic.

I would panic if I’d stay more hours than the allowed, and even get nervous to be breathing in there. But I promise, from all my heart, that I would be unable to be there for more than two days, taking for granted that I will have to do two tours to know the whole city and the nuclear reactor itself. It would be such an incredible and terrifying experience at the same time. I REALLY WANT TO GO!!

  1. Hi Camila!, I think you are the first person that I meet that wants to know more and visit Chernobyl. To be honest, I don´t know too much about the history of this place, but it sounds and looks scary and a little dangerous haha, but I hope when it becomes a safe place you would visit it.
